What about asymptomatic cover?
As of 15/02/2022, For the insured clients who have been diagnosed with COVID- 19 but are classified as asymptomatic patients , they will not be considered “inpatient” per the guidelines stipulated by the Ministry of Public Health. To be an “ inpatient” in a hospital or hospitel, they must have medical necessity and medical standards in accordance with the rules of the Ministry of Public Health for any of the following:
- When the fever is higher than 39 degrees Celsius for more than 24 hours
- Respiratory Rate 25 times faster per minute in adults
- Oxygen saturation is less than 94 %
- Diseases that have changed or need to closely monitor the symptoms at the discretion of the physician
- For children, if they have difficulty breathing, lethargy, or eat less
If the patient does not have any of the above symptoms and being treated as a patient in a hospital or hospitel - companies will not cover cost for quarantine/isolation anymore.
Allianz : Asymptomatic quarantine is not included in the coverage - medical necessity is needed for coverage. Preventive care or diagnostic testing (vaccines, PCR, masks, administrative requirements, quarantine/isolation expenses even at a hospital are not covered). However if medical treatment is facilitated, then the policy will cover you up to the stated amount on the insurance policy.
